This post is dedicated to all students going back to education this month. Here are three amazing tips to guide you in this upcoming year.

Give God priority over everything.

In every area of our life, we should always aim for God to be at the forefront of our lives. Matthew 6:33 states that once we seek God, everything else will be given on to us. When we cast all of our fears about exams, coursework and our futures unto God and we are faithful, there is nothing that God cannot do.

When you begin to feel overwhelmed and anxious, take some time out and ask God for wisdom. Never forget that God is always near, lean on the understanding of God and trust that His wisdom, power and goodness will support you.

Brains are better than Brawn.

Proverbs 20:15 declares that there are gold and rubies in abundance but lips that speak knowledge are a rare jewel. Your education is something that once you have it, no one can take it away from you. It adds to you, betters you and never goes out of style. We should all aim to better ourselves and not remain idle. Learn new skills, study your Word and read to your heart’s content. Develop your mind as you never know where it could take you. Wealth is a blessing to have when honourably gained, but wisdom is a much more desirable attribute to have.

Be the best YOU.

Be the best you can be. Ecclesiastes 9:10 is my favourite scripture as it says whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might. Every coursework, every exam, every job, every extra-curricular activity, give it all you have. Go to your classes, ask for help when you are stuck, do extra reading, network and lastly be prepared. Before you know it, your academic years will be over so make sure you put in your all so you have no regrets. Hold high goals for yourself and trust that God will guide you there.

So, as you step into this new year, go in with a fresh mindset; study hard, aim high and showcase yourself to be who you were made to be.
